Ok, here's the deal. I lost my job. My coushy, lazy, sit on the phone and not sell things job. Not my fault, I got laid off. But now I have to work at finding a job again. Well, screw that. While stumbling around on the net I found a few different sites that claim you can make tons of money online at home with little to no work. At first I did what everyone does to these. I dismissed the idea and started wishing it were so easy. Well, what if it was? If all these sites exist, something has to work, right? So I came up with an idea. I'm going to test this out. I'm a creative guy who really doesn't have anything to lose from this. My phone number is easily changed, and I never check my mail anyway so telemarketers and junk mail don't scare me.
I got together as many of these sites as I could find and am going to go down the list by common groupings of what they require you to do, and then compare them based on profit vs time and work. In the end, I can tell you three things about it, for example: It was fun, so I hardly noticed the 4 hours go by as I did it, but I only made 10 bucks for all my effort. Yeah, it's easy and fun, but I've got better ways to make money than that for 2.50 an hour. My goal is to at least find one of these that pays a stable $8 or more per hour, or around $64 per day.
The rules are as follows:
1. This is all based on ANYONE being able to do this. That being said, if you are under 18, you are going to have a lot of trouble participating legally in a few of these. This is not my concern. My target audience for this should be able to sign a contract legally. This rule not so much a rule for age as it is for subject matter. For example: Anyone can sign up to a pornographic webcam site. I however, will not be doing this. There are other ways to make money online. So to make this simple, you are allowed to be anonymous to the public during this experiment, but I recommend that you are over 18 for legal issues.
2. No start up cost. Nothing I list here will ever cost you anything more than time or effort. Even if you have a 100% guarantee at getting your money back through an investment or something like that, you still need the cash to front it. This experiment is about having nothing more than a computer, internet, and a bank account. We already know you have access to the first two, and bank accounts are free for basic checking.
3. Nothing on this list is illegal. You can honestly say that anything on this list is perfectly legit, and could make a good career off it if you're good enough.
4. No educational background required. Experience helps in life, and so does this little diploma. But here, I don't care. I don't have a GED, and I'm not falsifying records to say that I do. It's more proof to say that ANYONE could do this.
Those are the basic rules I have set up for myself for this experiment. You are free to do whatever you like in the world, but I want to cover my own ass here so you can't say "Well, some guy with a blog said it was a good idea to make easy money." If it's not in this list, I never said I'd support it.
Now, here's the extra part to this post. This is actually my second blog on the subject. My first is basically the same thing, on a different site. Why the 2 blogs? Simple, advertising. I didn't feel like reading the rules and regulations for both Google and Yahoo and their ad programs to see if I could get away with both on one site. Furthermore, I don't want to clutter a site with advertisements. The point of the ads is just a part of the experiment. It's the part the reader actually gets to decide a little about on which is better or more worthwhile. Maybe one pays more, but you feel it made the site look like crap. Which is more important to you? For the record, this one has advertising through Yahoo, while my other has it through Google. At the end of the experiment, I will weigh how much each made per visit and all that crap.
